Read about how new drone regulations, advanced AI-powered defenses, and essential training are shaping the
next era of safer, smarter airspace— all in our November newsletter.
Selected news, content, incidents, and information about C-UAS and the counter-drone world, from a D-Fend perspective, based on our vision of enabling a flourishing and secure drone-powered society by safely defending against rogue drone threats.
Brett Feddersen, VP of Strategy and Government Affairs at D-Fend Solutions, explains: “People want to make sure that their privacy in their own backyard is secure. People want to make sure that the drones that are flying are safe and legal to use, and they're relying on state and local law enforcement and individuals in the community to provide them those answers.”
But while the idea of bringing down drones may conjure images of someone shooting a firearm at one in the hopes of destroying it, the truth is a lot more nuanced. Companies like D-Fend Solutions instead look to take over a drone’s operation and land it safely.
Sensor fusion and AI are transforming drone defense from isolated systems into adaptive, networked weapons capable of outsmarting evolving threats. D-Fend's Brett Feddersen highlights the industry's defining shift to AI-powered, layered defenses that leverage a System-of-Systems approach to safely detect and mitigate drone threats across complex airspace environments.
The difference between containment and chaos often comes down to personnel proficiency in detection, assessment, and neutralization of malicious drone activity under pressure. D-Fend’s C-UAS training walks teams through this process step by step, turning complex theory into practiced expertise.
Retired U.S. Air Force General Glen VanHerck, former USNORTHCOM and NORAD commander, has joined D-Fend Solutions’ advisory board. He brings vital strategic defense expertise to guide the company amid growing drone threats.
