D-Fend Solutions was proud to attend and exhibit at this year’s Association of the United States Army (AUSA) convention! AUSA is a well-established and recognized association, with more than 100 chapters around the world. It has been around since 1950, supporting soldiers, their families, and Army civilians. This year’s main theme was Building the Army of 2030, providing a “platform to discuss updates on how the Army is transforming in coordination with the Joint Force to defend America and meet future challenges.” Building on that theme, one major new challenge for the Army has become increasingly clear in recent years – adapted and weaponized commercial and do-it-yourself drones. The need for Counter-UAS is clear, and this is how D-Fend Solutions can help with EnforceAir.
I had the pleasure of participating in the event in Washington, DC, with my
D-Fend colleagues – Danny Rajan, Michael Langman, Adam Belmonte, and Clint Holloway. We hosted many visitors and held meetings in our booth. The event was large and impressive this year. In addition to our own booth presence, we also had the privilege of presenting EnforceAir in the booth of SAIC, our partner and the creator of the Valkyrie Counter UAS system of systems. This dual presence of EnforceAir mirrors how it can be used, both standalone as well as within a layered solution integrated into a system of systems.
We had plenty of discussions and non-stop traffic at our booth, engaging with both current EnforceAir users and new contacts. We enjoyed the opportunity to discuss the risk of hostile drones, and how a radio frequency cyber-based technology provides a more robust and safer method of counter-UAS. Also, we were able to present how EnforceAir can detect the drone, identify the type, track the drone in flight and the pilot’s location, and take control of the aircraft, safe landing it wherever you choose. The most amazing part is how EnforceAir does this without jamming or interfering with anything else!
At the SAIC booth, we showed the EnforceAir on top of the Mobile Command Center truck, where it was integrated with their Valkyrie system-of-systems C-UAS. Our presence highlighted how this partnership contributes to a multilayered cyber and sensor/effector solution to support a multi-faceted counter-unmanned aircraft system environment. This demonstrates how EnforceAir can enhance C-UAS effectors by adding a cyber layer.
Showcasing EnforceAir both in our own booth and at partner booths demonstrates our wide and varied presence in the C-UAS space. As we continue to advance our solution across different sectors and use cases, we look forward to continuing to leverage our technology partnerships to extend our counter-drone capabilities and presence, with greater benefits to the C-UAS ecosystem. We look forward to AUSA next year!
